NAIDCharities is a ‘virtual animal rescue’. We don’t keep any animals, we don’t feed any animals, and most times, we don’t even see any animals. But we’re making a big difference anyway. Just being invisible.
We are a non-profit organization that helps abandoned animal placement services find homes for pets faster. How? Well, it’s all about social networking. We tell more people about the pet than would have ever known with traditional methods. And not just any home will do – we work to find the right type of owner with a little extra homework behind the scenes.
Ultimately, we learn as much as we can about the abandoned pet, and the people that might be interested in adoption. Then we reach out to the potential homes, and let them know the pet is available. In the ‘old days’ people had to come looking for a new pet. We’re bringing the opportunity of a new pet to them.
For us to help more abandoned pets, it’s all about the ‘byte’: the more data (which is measured in a metric called bytes!) we can collect about abandoned animals and potential households in which to place them, the more successful we can be in taking pets out of over-crowded shelters, and guiding them into loving homes.
